How to recognise the right intelligence for your company?

If we look into the future according to employing the right people for our companies we will have to know how to recognise the ones who will fit the best our business needs and our golas.

The biggest mistake which was being made in the past and is being made today is the fact that most recruitment tools (or tests) base on so called IQ.

IQ is the biggest mistake in judging human intellectual possibilities. Why? Because IQ checks synthetic intelligence, not the creative one. What is synthetic intelligence? It is  a summary of facts we remember from school. It shows what we were able to memorise while attending schools. Here lays another false belief; it has been said that lots of people were bad students (and they unfortunately believe this). It’s is not true. If a person graduaded (or stopped attending)  a school with a badge „ a bad student” it was where the way he was given knowledge was wrong, not he himself was a bad student. It means that the way used by a teacher didn’t ignite a student to have a need to discover more, to collect more facts or to develop himself to train his mind. In 80% IQ tests are build on mathematic and geometric tasks. It will never prove if a person is a creative one or if he is able to confront difficulties in his professional or private life.

Creative intelligence requires more then just memorised knowledge form schools. It makes us invent things, to dare more, to deliver the solutions which have not been used, implied before, but somehow they are the best for the situation. It causes great inventions, pushes people to walk on undiscovered paths. It is a feed for someone hungry for a life and development.

If we take a look at ethymology of „creative” we will find this: late 14c., from Latin creatus, pp. of creare ”to make, bring forth, produce, beget,” related to crescere ”arise, grow”.

In a picture below, on the right side you will find all which describes a creative intelligence thinker. On the left there is shown a memorised knowledge thinker. Both kinds of thinkers are wanted in companies, however it is up to you which of them will fit your company better and more efficient.

So, have a look and consider how are you going to guide your company with people you are about to hire or to fire.
